Take the Leap of Faith
Title: Take the Leap of Faith
Introduction: Trusting God’s Call
Friends, today I want to talk to you about taking steps of faith. So often, God places dreams in our hearts, calls us to greater things, and whispers His purpose over our lives. But before we ever take that first step, doubt and fear begin to rise up. We tell ourselves we’re not qualified, we’re not capable, we’re not strong enough. We see the obstacles before us and start to second-guess whether we’re even hearing from God. But here’s what I want to remind you of today: God will never put a dream in your heart without first equipping you to fulfill it.
We see this so clearly in the story of Moses. When God told Moses to go to Pharaoh and ask him to let God’s people go, Moses immediately pointed out his shortcomings. He said, “I can’t do that, God. I’m not a good speaker. I’m not qualified.” But God responded in Exodus 4:11, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?” God reminded Moses that He had already equipped him with everything he needed. Today, I want to encourage you to take a leap of faith and trust that God has already given you everything you need to fulfill His calling on your life.
The Power of Taking a Step of Faith
Friends, the Bible is full of stories of ordinary men and women who did extraordinary things—not because they were the most talented, not because they had it all figured out, but because they dared to take a step of faith. Think about Moses. He didn’t feel qualified to stand before Pharaoh, but he took a step of faith. Think about David, a young shepherd boy who took a step of faith and faced Goliath when everyone else was afraid. 1 Samuel 17:37 says, “The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” David didn’t have all the answers, but he knew that God was with him, which gave him the courage to take that step.
Maybe today, you’re facing a giant in your own life. You’re looking at a challenge that seems impossible. It might be a dream God has placed in your heart, but you don’t see how it could ever happen. You may think, “I’m not strong enough, I’m not smart enough, I don’t have the resources.” But I want to tell you today: God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called. He has already given you everything you need, but you must be willing to take that first step of faith. When you take that step, you’ll discover gifts and abilities that God has placed inside you that you never knew were there.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us today that You have already given us everything we need to fulfill the dreams You have placed in our hearts. Help us to take that first step of faith, even when we don’t have all the answers. Give us the courage to trust in Your plan and to believe that You are with us every step of the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
God Has Equipped You for the Journey
Sometimes, we look at the dreams God has placed in our hearts and think, “How could I ever do that? I don’t have what it takes.” We start to focus on what we lack—our shortcomings, our weaknesses, our limitations. But the truth is, God will never put a dream in your heart without first equipping you to fulfill it. 2 Peter 1:3 says, “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life.” That means you already have every gift, talent, and resource inside you. God is not asking you to do this alone; He has already provided your needs.
When Moses finally decided to take that step of faith and go to Pharaoh, he didn’t know how everything would work out. He didn’t realize how Pharaoh would respond or how the Israelites would react. But he trusted that if God had called him, then God would be with him every step of the way. Friends, you may not have all the answers today. You may not see how it will all work out, but God will do the rest if you take that step of faith. He has matched you with your world and knows exactly what it will take to get you where you need to be.
Don’t Be Intimidated by the Size of Your Dreams
When God places a dream in your heart, it’s often more significant than anything you could accomplish on your own. It’s easy to look at the size of the dream and become intimidated. You might think, “How could I ever do that? I don’t have the resources, the connections, or the talent.” But I want to remind you today that God is more significant than any challenge you face. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” God didn’t give you that dream so that you could accomplish it by yourself. He gave you that dream so that you would lean on Him, trust in Him, and watch as He opens doors that no one can shut.
You see, friends, when God called Moses, He didn’t expect Moses to do it alone. He knew Moses would need His strength, guidance, and power. And the same is true for you. The size of the dream may seem intimidating, but God is with you and is more than able to make a way. Don’t let the size of the dream scare you—trust that God has already equipped you, and He will bring the right people, opportunities, and resources at just the right time.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for reminding us that we are not alone. Help us not to be intimidated by the size of the dreams You have placed in our hearts but to trust that You are with us and that You are more than able to make a way. Give us the courage to take a step of faith, knowing that You will provide everything we need. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Silence the Naysayers
Whenever you step out in faith to follow the dream God has placed in your heart, you can be sure that people will try to discourage you. They’ll tell you, “You’re not qualified. You’re not good enough. That will never work.” But if God has called you to do something, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says. Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” You have to learn to silence the naysayers. Don’t let their words plant seeds of doubt in your heart. Instead, choose to focus on what God says about you.
Remember, when David stood before Goliath, his brothers tried to discourage him. They told him he was too young, too inexperienced. But David knew God had called him to take on Goliath, and he didn’t let their words stop him. Friends, when God calls you, there will always be voices of doubt trying to talk you out of it. But you have to choose to listen to the voice of truth. God says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, more than a conqueror, and can do all things through Christ. If you keep moving forward in faith, God will handle the rest.
Keep Moving Forward
Moses finally took that step of faith and went to Pharaoh, but he didn’t see results immediately. Things got worse before they got better. Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and the Israelites faced even more hardship. Friends, when you step out in faith, things may not happen as quickly as you’d like. There may be moments when you’re facing one obstacle after another. But I want to encourage you today—don’t give up. Hebrews 10:36 says, “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.”
God is faithful, and He will fulfill His promises to you. Keep moving forward, believing, and trusting that God works behind the scenes. The resistance you’re facing is not a sign that God isn’t with you—it’s a sign that you’re on the right path. Remember, God’s timing is perfect, and His plan for you is more significant than anything you could imagine. Stay in faith, keep taking steps of obedience, and watch as God begins to open doors that no one can shut.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness in every season. Help us to keep moving forward, even when we face resistance. Give us the strength to persevere and to trust in Your timing. We believe You are working behind the scenes for our good, and we thank You in advance for the doors You are about to open. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
God Will Provide What You Need Along the Way
Moses didn’t have all the answers when he set out to free the Israelites from slavery. He didn’t know how God was going to part the Red Sea or how He was going to provide manna in the wilderness. But Moses took the steps of faith that God called him to take, and along the way, God provided everything that was needed. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” When you put God first and trust Him, He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
You may not have all the answers today. You may not see how it’s all going to work out. But I encourage you to take that step of faith anyway. God is a provider and will give you everything you need right when you need it. The Israelites didn’t have food or water while wandering in the wilderness. Still, God provided manna from heaven and water from a rock. He is still the same God today. He will provide for you, make a way, and do what only He can do.
Step Out and Trust God with the Outcome
The key to living a life of faith is to take the steps God calls you to take and trust Him with the outcome. You’re not responsible for making everything happen—God’s job. Your job is to take the steps He’s leading you to take, even when it doesn’t make sense. Proverbs 16:9 says, “In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Friends, when you step out in faith, you’re placing your trust in the God who created you, knows you better than you know yourself, and has a perfect plan for your life.
He is faithful, and He will not let you down. When you step out in faith, you trust in His strength, provision, and power. You say, “God, I may not have all the answers, but I trust You do. I’m putting my dreams, plans, and future in Your hands.” Don’t let fear hold you back any longer. Take that leap of faith, and watch God do what He can do.
Let Us Pray
Father, thank You for being the God who establishes our steps. Help us trust You with the outcome of our dreams and take the steps You are leading us to take. Give us the courage to step out in faith, knowing that You are faithful and that You are with us every step of the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
I Feel We Should Pray Again
Father, thank You for the gifts and talents You put in me to accomplish my dream. Thank you. I don’t have to feel like I have everything I need to move forward because I know you are with me every step. I declare today that I will keep taking steps of faith, trusting in Your plan, and believing that You will get me to where You want me to be. I trust You with my future, and I thank You for the incredible things You have in store. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
