Put It in God’s Hands
Trusting God in Every Season
Friends, we all face moments in life that we don’t understand—situations that seem unfair, setbacks that come out of nowhere, and circumstances that leave us asking, “Why me?” Maybe it’s a health issue, a relationship that fell apart, a child not living to their potential, a door that didn’t open, or an opportunity that slipped away. In these moments, we’re tempted to question whether God really has a plan for us or is in control. But today, I want to remind you of something very important: God will not mismanage your life. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He knows every detail and is not surprised by what you’re going through. He’s promised that everything will work together for our good if we trust Him.
Proverbs 3:5 in The Message version tells us, “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.” The key to living in peace is to put everything in God’s hands. When you face a situation that doesn’t make sense, when things happen that you don’t understand, you have a choice: you can worry and stress, or you can choose to put it in God’s hands. Today, I want to encourage you to trust Him, believe that He has a plan, and know He is working behind the scenes for your good.
Trusting God in Uncertain Times
We all face seasons of uncertainty. It’s easy to trust God when everything is going our way, when the doors are opening, and when our prayers are being answered. But the real test of faith comes when we face setbacks, disappointments, and situations that make no sense. Proverbs 3:5 tells us to “Trust God from the bottom of your heart.” It doesn’t say to trust Him when you understand or when everything is going well. It says to trust Him from the bottom of your heart—that means trusting Him fully, even when you don’t have all the answers.
Friends, God will not allow anything to happen in your life without a purpose. He doesn’t just sit back and say, “I can’t believe that happened. Too bad!” No, He’s ordering your steps. Psalm 37:23 says, “The Lord orders the steps of a good man, and He delights in his way.” God is directing your path, even amid uncertainty. You may not understand why you’re facing a particular challenge, but know this: God is in control. He’s not going to mismanage your life. Nothing happens without His permission, and He’s promised everything will work together for your good.
God Has a Plan Behind the Pain
Many times, we go through painful experiences that we don’t understand. Maybe the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or a financial setback has you feeling defeated. It’s easy to think that God has forgotten about us. But I want you to know today that God will never allow a bad break in your life without a reason. He has a purpose for every pain.
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God’s plan for you is not to harm you but to give you hope. Even in the middle of the storm, God is with you and working all things out for your good. Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” God sees your pain, and He is close to you. He’s not just watching from a distance—He’s walking with you through the valley and has a plan for every tear you shed.
The Purpose Behind Every Setback
One of the most challenging things to understand is that setbacks are often part of God’s plan for our lives. We see them as obstacles, but God sees them as opportunities to grow our faith and prepare us for what’s ahead. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Notice that it doesn’t say “some things”; it says “all things.” That means every setback, every disappointment, every delay—God is using it for your good.
Friends, you may be going through a tough time right now. You may need to understand why a specific door closed, why you lost your job, or why a relationship ended. But if you stay in faith, don’t get bitter, and keep trusting God, He will turn that setback into a setup for something greater. Isaiah 61:3 says that God will give us “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.” God is not finished with you. He’s still writing your story and will bring something beautiful out of your pain.
Stop Trying to Figure It All Out
The problem many of us have is that we try to figure everything out. We want to know why something happened, why a door closed, why we’re facing this particular challenge. But, friends, trying to figure it all out will only lead to frustration and discouragement. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.’” God’s ways are higher than ours. He sees what we cannot see and knows what we cannot know.
Instead of trying to understand everything, we must put it in God’s hands. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” When you trust God and let go of the need to understand, His peace will guard your heart and mind. It’s not our job to have all the answers; it’s our job to trust the One who does.
Keep Doing the Right Thing
When life doesn’t make sense when facing unfair challenges, that’s not the time to give up—it’s the time to keep doing the right thing. It’s easy to get discouraged, to think, “What’s the use? Nothing is working out for me.” But that’s precisely what the enemy wants you to do. He wants you to give up on your dreams, to lose hope, and to walk away from what God has called you to do. Galatians 6:9 tells us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Friends, if you stay faithful and keep trusting God, even when it doesn’t make sense, He will honor your faithfulness. He will use what was meant for harm to your advantage. James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” Keep doing the right thing, even when it’s hard, and God will bring you to a place of victory.
Put It in God’s Hands and Watch Him Work
The key to living a life of peace and joy is to put everything in God’s hands. Stop worrying about things you can’t control, stop trying to figure out every detail, and trust that God is working it all out for your good. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” When you say, “God, I believe that You have a purpose for this problem, and I’m going to trust You,” you are opening the door for Him to do something extraordinary in your life.
Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” Whatever you’re facing today—financial struggles, health issues, family, or relationship challenges—put it in God’s hands. Trust that He knows what He’s doing and that He can more than meet your needs. He’s not going to mismanage your life. He’s not going to leave you or forsake you. He’s a faithful God, working all things together for your good.
Closing Encouragement
Friends, I want to encourage you today to put whatever you face in God’s hands. Don’t try to figure it all out. Don’t let worry and fear take over. Instead, trust that God has a purpose and works behind the scenes for your good. He’s ordering your steps and promised that everything will work together for your good. Stay in faith, keep doing the right thing, and know God is in control. Your job is to trust Him—He will care for the rest.
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for being my God and ordering my steps. Thank You for Your faithfulness in every season of my life. I am grateful to let go of the burden of trying to figure everything out on my own and trust that You have a purpose behind everything I face. I declare today that I am in the palms of Your hands, and I choose to trust You from the bottom of my heart. I know that You are working all things together for my good, and my breakthrough is coming. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
Have a great week!
